Proposed - regular meeting items:

1. Command (line?) of the month. [Given November presentation topic ...]

- interesting option(s).
- non-immediately apparent usefulnessessess(esses?)
- deep geek versions that do nifty things. Probably involving pipes, other
commands, and ... I'll stop there.

- presented and picked by Host
- nominees from tail end of prior meeting, and list suggestions during the
month.
	- actually, current host takes any meeting suggestions and posts to
the list. Next host picks up the list from there.
	- preferably the list suggestors provide a web man / instruction /
interesting page, and favourite way on favourite distro for getting help.
i.e. There are many forms of help - man, info, whatis, whereis, etc., and
not infrequently a more human readable man2html or other useful web page
already present within the distro.
	- i.e. web site / presentation fodder for kwlug.org posting.
- Richard brings his laptop and works the keyboard for the presenter.
Default first page: http://kwlug.org. Terminal window minimized,
ready and waiting.
- total topic time: perhaps 2 minutes.

- January suggestion: ls
	-

OpenBSD+Current&arch=i386&format=html,
http://www.linuxcommand.org/man_pages/ls1.html
	- 'info ls'
	- options: -F, --color

- close 2nd, having just written the above: man2html.

2. Word of the month. January proposal - convergence.

- Richard on laptop is ready with wikipedia up on word.
- Host picks and presents, as above.

3. My nomination for fishbowl candidate for January: Whatever is helping
home users with Asterisk. I believe this is TrixBox, but I'll let John
correct me if my intent and result do not match.
- i.e. somebody who's helping Joe User get out from underneath 'big-Bell'.
- main page on lower left side shows they take donations (via PayPal,
sorry).
- however, see: http://fonality.com/press.html#20061004_anchor - fonality
has 'acquired' TrixBox.

Don't know if I shouldn't be concerned about that or not. I'll leave it to
others more in the know to explain and/or de-nominate this. [I'll be guided
by their call.]

-----

4. Given 1 and 2 ... does it make any sense to have a favourite links page
at kwlug.org? Particularly, people's favourite sites for help? e.g.
tldp.org.

Perhaps a sub-section of people's favourite utilities? e.g. Gimp. And by
this I merely mean someone in the lug uses it, and therefore if someone is
looking for help they'll probably find it. Vs. 42 different ways to do
something, and nobody local is using the 18th.
