I was under the impression that pre-7pm was time to allow new users to field
questions to other members. We started showing videos to help fill some of
the time. The videos, BTW, are not available for the library/loan. We cut
out videos because we'd been through all the videos, and some of the
material was dated because some of the Red Hat tools had changed.
We could bring back videos. Archive.org has quite a few videos that centre
around Linux and Open Source. We could also schedule "newbie talks," shorter
presentations for general topics like adding Debian/GNU Linux repositories,
using some of the Fedora/Red Hat tools, etc. But we'd want to split the time
so newbies could ask unrelated questions. I don't mind doing a few of these
talks (since I'm here anyway), but it would be helpful to have a
pre-arranged set of topics for say 6 months.
Cheers,
Charles
