Which only means that the version at time of purchase was free.
Doesn't necessarily mean further developments will be free.

Good luck with that.
It really is pretty open now, being based, ESX anyways, on an old Red
Hat (fork?). Even if new 'really' open, it is relatively transparent.

It really would be interesting to hear their spin on things.
Being based on Red Hat, I initially ignored the kerfluffle. Thinking,
it's Red Hat, etc. - surely they all had a really good hard think and
examination before proceeding.
But, if it were that simple, it wouldn't be news now. The Red Hat base
has been out there so long, I guess I expected everyone knew that.
So supposing they did / can't be news to the authors of the kerfluffle
articles, why is it news / what's the chink / why this late in the game?
