[kwlug disc.] Tough server debug question

The problem is about 3-6 months old.  It seems to have crept up and is 
getting worse.  I don't believe there's any correlation between script 
changes and the problem.  Not 100% sure but I think it's likely been 
longer than that since any script changes.

I've tried a bit to get it to lock up, but not successfully.  There's 
literally thousands (and possibly tens of thousands) of this script 
being run everyday.  I'm pretty sure there's some data that causes the 
problem though as it seems to come from one or two customers who are 
using more advanced functions - but it's not all of them.  I've taken 
the inputs from locked up threads, run them through, and no problem.  So 
while there's some correlation with the data being sent as inputs 
(specific customers calling the script using a specific set of 
variables) I don't know what it is - and that knowledge hasn't seemed to 
have gotten me any further.  Certainly there's nothing odd about the 
data in the threads that are getting locked.
