Support's the other big issue.  I could not recommend an obscure distro like 
Mepis or Linspire (yes I consider both obscure, Slackware at least has age on 
its side... it's crufty, not obscure <g>) -- I mean you could very well 
recommend an LFS image which had everything out of the box, but then how do 
you support it?
