They're not cheap, but they are *the* industry standard for rugged shipping 
containers.  I'd suggest a Pellican case.  Hard plastic, totally customizable 
foam interior, optional wheels and extension carrying handle, and lockable.

They're not local, but I bet you can obtain them locally.  They're rugged as 
hell and I'd not hesitate for a moment to recommend them.
