I don't think this is bad.

Er, I don't think this is as bad as you phrase.

I agree it is as bad as you phrase, and worse, with respect to ethics.

The outrage is the invisibility, not the purpose, I suspect.

But ... suppose they provide full and complete disclosure ...

How much of similar 'warnings' do we all get, and just ignore due to
simple overload.

My personal pet peeves of such ... insurance policies and credit card
member agreements.
