Kerberos indeed! I can change my password on any of those machines
remotely, and it will change on all other as well, thought I'm not
sure what else Kerberos does for me...

That is precisely it. All this command I use does it login, add my SSH
key to a file in /~.ssh/something_key.

That's it right there. After I use the command, I can just type:
ssh <host>
And it logs me in without any more typing required.
