Hello!
Anyone know of, or use a solution to keep track of their backups? I'm not
talking backup solutions, but something that would document - say, five
years after the fact, which databases or files were associated with which
servers, i.e. from 2000-2005 database A contained client records in this
format and used this client version B.1.2 and it was located on X and F
servers.
We're finding some years after the fact, stuff gets moved around and
versions of clients and software to support those types of files doesn't
exist or isn't documented etc. [Yeah, I know.. open file formats..
excellent idea]... or no one can remember which server they existed on. One
then needs to restore data from a number of sources in order to be able to
do a search.
Thanks, Oksana
