I'd say it's not worthy (please somebody correct me),
since a new 15'' CRT monitor is like $150, a used one
is garage-sale price and a new 17'' LCD monitor start
under $200 (I just got one). See for instance

I'm don't know how much is to repair your monitor, but
in my limited experience, a technician tends to ask
about $100 just to look at it (that's what I got for
other electronics).
