Happy New Year to all.

As for Linux games, this is what I spend most of my time on:

Simutrans: Not entirely dis-similar to Railroad Tycoon, but more than
just trains. Like playing SimCity2000, but you don't build the
city--just the transportation infrastructure. As many Linux projects
are--a work in progress, but stable releases exist (be prepared to
save often)

Eternal Lands: MMORPG (google that if you neet to). Create a
character, and wander a fairly expansive world looking for things to
do. I was involved in the "Events Team" on this game, which is a
group of players that would create scenarios for other players to
participate in--contests, story driven quests, etc. Quite limited to
very linear go here find this go here talk to him type quests
otherwise, but I still found it fun once I got past the nothing to do
but harvest stage.

Battle of Wesnoth: Turn based fantasy strategy game. Scenario/story
driven--Usually one or more heroes that you must guide thru some
quests, and you recruit armies to fight your battles for them. Not
bad if you like the turn system and just want to kill some time.

These are all OSS projects I beleive.
