[kwlug disc.] looking for small, cool examples of VCS repos

a bit of an offbeat question but, for a linux development course i'm
rewriting, i want to have a chapter on various version control
systems, each section accompanied by an actual project that is under
control of that VCS. so i'm looking for one example for each of the
following (with examples i've already chosen in parentheses):
CVS: systemtap
subversion: busybox
git: kernel and "sparse"
mercurial: ??
DARCS: ??
bazaar-ng: ??
the idea is to cover each VCS in no more than 10 minutes, showing
how to checkout/clone a repo, how to poke around, how to update, etc.
all strictly from a user point of view. *very* brief coverage, just
enough to get the user up and running.
so, as i said, there's plenty of projects out there, but does anyone
have some ideas for relatively small projects under any of these VCSes
that would fit nicely into a development course? thanks.
