And as much as COBOL's a joke, it's really not a joke.  COBOL's still 
used aplenty in legacy systems in large corporations.  Not that many 
years ago I worked for a larger local company where having COBOL on your 
resume was a desired skill.  I expect they're using it yet today.

If you're gunning for a job atsome hitech firm then cobol's not where 
it's at.  Different story if you're looking for a job at a large 
financial institution or the like.
