 	I have not used them myself but I do know a professional 
typesetter who prefers groff to LaTeX for many projects. I think it is 
because it gives him easier customization and flexibility than fiddling 
with TeX.

 	The big win for LaTeX is mathematical typesetting, hands down. If 
you don't typeset math then maybe these other systems will work for you.
