Checking with independent car audio retailers will be helpful as well.  They
might not know about linux-based audio formats, but a lot of car audio
systems can play iPods and other MP3 devices, as well as play MP3 and WMA
formats right on the optical drive.

www.stereoconnection.ca could be a good resource in Cambridge, ON.
Natural Sound Shops in Kitchener could be a good one as well.

Alpine, Clarion, Sony, etc.

By the way, I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for".  When
purchasing a $100 head unit for the dash, you're going to get ok sound and
performance.  When purchasing a unit for $200-400, you're going to get a
much better quality unit, both in audio performance and overall day-to-day
use.
