I hope that you are right when you say "
 I think we might have won, and just not realized it".

I have my moments when I think that it is really Msoft that is running scared here and I think that we have won that battle. 

Most of the time I think that we just can't trust Msoft at all.  Sorry Bill and Steve but it is just the way it is.

If Msoft is threatening the small fish in the Linux pond then I am hopeful that Mark Shuttleworth is a billionaire that Msoft can't push around.

It would be nice if we have won the war. 

Here is a totally off-the-wall idea: What if there is a common threat to Linux and Msoft at the same time? What if Msoft can see it coming and Msoft and is making a case that Msoft need us and we need Msoft.   

Is it Google Apps? Has Yahoo got something up their sleeve?

Oh man! it is a good thing that I do not smoke wakkie tobakie  aint it?

 I know we've gone through the Ignore, stage and the laugh stage.
 
 I'm just not sure if we are in the fight stage or if they've given up. Obviously MS has decided to step up to the plate and acknowledge Linux, and is apparently validating it by wanting to be more compatible with it. Isn't that wonderful :)

 Isn't Microsoft doing deals like this, like a "coke blinked" moment?
