So I got a 22" wide LCD panel for Father's day. Plugged 'er in and
changed my settings, but I'm getting a couple odd problems.
I'm running mandriva and have both my screen resolution and the monitor
resolution set to 1600X1050. The graphics card shown is the correct one.
Here's what's happening. The moniter seems smaller than the desktop.
By this I mean that when I move my mouse to the right, the entire
desktop shifts left. Same goes for top and bottom. I can shift my view
like a magnifying glass over top of a larger desktop. It's a bit
disconcerting though it's clearly supposed to work that way based on my
settings. How do I set this up so that both my monitor and desktop are
the same size?
Second problem (maybe resolved by the first one?) is that if I move the
mouse off the desktop on the right too fast, I get a blank blue screen.
If I move the mouse to the left again, my desktop is restored. Moving
the mouse slow doesn't create this behavior.
Thoughts?
