I'm using the 3102 with Unlimitel's a la Carte service.. with no voice
mail. I've had zero problems
with it... no gotchas. Sometimes I find the cables - although they snap-in
- sometimes seem loose
after a period of time. I'm not using Asterisk.. I just don't have the
need... I get very few calls anyhow.. and I mostly use it to call my parents
or my sister or friends out of town.. everyone else I seem to communicate
mostly with email or IM.

Oksana, are you using the 3102 without *? Have you run into any

I don't see why you couldn't attach a voice mail device.. I have one.. I
just never have done so. People who know me - know they can get me quicker
through email usually. If you want to use the phones througout your house -
the existing wiring -- you'll need to make some connections..
see:
http://www.vonage.ca/help.php?article=921
This will disable your POTS phone line.. so only do this if you intend to
get rid of Ma Bell or whomever else your telecom service provider is. You
can run the VOIP solution alongside your regular phone line for a while if
you wish to try it out... just connect a phone line to the 3102.

From what unlimitel has said, although one DID has 5 incoming

On my 3102 I only have one line for the phone... I forget the proper
terminology.. but the voice traffic over IP converted to a regular phone
line - there is only one connector on the device I have.
see:

and for a picture of the ports:

If a call coming in to unlimitel is forwarded (via unlimitel, 3102,
> or Asterisk), say to a cell, are unlimitel minutes still being consumed?

I don't know but I would think if it hands off the call - like to a cell,
then I would assume no.. if Asterisk is handling the call internally and the
traffic is still being routed.. then no.

Hope this helps!
