Hey,

I've wanted something like this for quite a while, looks like I've got 
to push it to get it done :).  Does anyone on the list have any interest 
in a networking get together in Toronto centered around internet 
marketing?  Specifically it would be centered around search engine 
optimization, affiliate stuff, pay per click, and other general web 
promotion topics. 

I've just spoken to linuxcaffe.ca in Toronto and I think the first thing 
I'm going to need is an idea of numbers.  Secondly, to get an idea of 
commitment, I was thinking of charging $5 ahead or $7 at the door, with 
all of those proceeds going to 'tip the waiter'.  It'd likely be held in 
the evening or on the weekend.

I want something very informal for two reasons.  I'm not looking to do 
the work of organizing a real event, and secondly I want this to be as 
grassroots networking amongst independents and smaller entities as I can 
get.  I'd like to have just a 'get together', but it seems the 
necessities of the location will at a minimum require me to get a vague 
sense of numbers. i.e I'd need at least an idea if 3 people are coming 
or 30.

Thoughts?  Anyone have any interest?  Anyone have any general thoughts 
on setting up a grassroots 'user' group like this?
