I will I could help but I was thinking about making a similar posting
about Thunderbird extensions. I have been having trouble with
Lightnings's inadequacies, and considering setting aside some time to
fix it myself.

(P.S.: Lightning is Thunderbirds calendar integration plugin. It is
related to the stand-alone calendar project Sunbird.)
