it's unlikely he's a troll.  a troll typically infuriates everyone by
saying/posting something infuriating or confrontational to provoke
outrage.

that wasn't infuriating so much as it was just dumb as a sack of
hammers.  and no one's really angry as much as they're just sitting
there thinking, "man, what an idiot."

if he's a troll, he's not particularly good at it.
