[kwlug disc.] archiving email

My understanding is that if you have deleted email in Thunderbird it doesn't
actually delete the message - it just doesn't show up in the view.  I think
you need to compress the folder to get it to reorganize the database, so you
may want to do that before you archive anything.  [I would make a backup
first, but that's me - cautious - or is that paranoid...  :)  ]

I use the extension mboximport to maintain backups as I find that sometimes
the mail file can get corrupted.
