Right now the website is sending the wrong signals. 

How is the web site sending wrong signals? Are we going to force people to
join the mailing list just to post a discussion topic? Some people prefer
not to be on mailing lists (volume of email, etc.).

Personally I like being able to post to my own blog on the KWLUG site, but I
wouldn't miss it if we just went with forums.
