[kwlug disc.] USB key sickness

 	I have a USB flash drive that has been acting up. When I put it
into my Linux box at home or the Windows machines at school, the flash
drive... flashes. That is, the little LED light blinks at me. Blink,
blink, blink. Meanwhile I can't mount the drive.

 	UPDATE: Actually, the LED does not blink at me anymore. I looked
around for information and thought that maybe repartitioning and
reformating the drive would fix the problem. No go -- I can't even bring
up the drive in cfdisk. For non-existent partitions I get messages that
the drive cannot be found. For the USB drive partition I get a "can't
determine drive size" message (I don't have the exact wording with me;
sorry).

 	I know the USB device is recognized by linux, and if I go to
/proc I can see the device information as sg1. (Which itself is odd.)

 	Any ideas? Is the flash drive dead now?
