pilot-link is a suite of tools used to connect your Palm or PalmOS®
compatible handheld with Unix, Linux, and any other POSIX-compatible
machine. pilot-link works with all PalmOS® handhelds, including those
made by Handspring, Sony, and Palm, as well as others.
pilot-link includes userspace "conduits" that allow you to syncronize
information to and from your Palm device, as well as libraries of
Palm-compatible functions that allow other applications to take
advantage of the code included in pilot-link.

pilot-link is the glue underneath gpilot, kpilot, and jpilot - in other
words, if you use a Palm with Linux - you're using pilot-link. You may
think the Palm is dead, but new devices are coming out regularly -
witness the Treo's, including the 680 and 7xx series. See
http://www.palm.com/ca/products/smartphones/. A Treo is just a Palm
with
a phone added - or is it the other way around?
The pilot-link site itself has quite the wealth of information for Palm
connectivity, including networking, bluetooth, and infrared, to name a
few. It's a good site to visit, and bookmark.
Donations: From http://www.pilot-link.org/, there is a donate button on
the right side. Unfortunately, it looks like $ donations are via PayPal
(which allows credit cards) only.
From past conversations, they need other help as well. Aside from
needing coding help, they need Palm devices (only to borrow) so they
can
debug code to deal with new curves Palm throws at them. See:
http://www.pilot-link.org/node/121 - "If you can spare a unit (or
units)
for testing and development (which will be used with the utmost care),
please ship it to ..."

Donating to pilot-link
Do you like our work? Do you rely on the code we release for your
daily work or for your own commercial or OSS project?
Please consider donating to keep the project going. We're a 100%
self-funded project, and we see a LOT of traffic from users
downloading.
Every contribution helps, whether to pay for bandwidth or to help
support obtaining devices for testing.
You can help support our efforts by visiting the pilot-link.org
website and clicking on the "Donate" button on the right side of the
page.
We thank you for your contributions, whatever you can offer.
