While there may not be a pressing need to donate, I don't think there is
any reason not to either. For one, we aren't exactly drowning in
suggestions, so I don't think we're unduly disadvantaging other
projects. Secondly, the MediaWiki software itself is a valuable
contribution to the FLOSS community, even if some don't agree with
Wikipedia's content policies.
If Chris wishes to withdraw his nomination that is his prerogative.
Otherwise I will add it to the queue (unless someone beats me to it).
No one is compelled to donate, so those of us who are comfortable
supporting Wikipedia can do so, those of us who are not will not.
Chris, do you mind if we add wxWidgits to the queue first, and have
Wikipedia as the 'in waiting' project. That way, if people want to
discuss this further, you can have more chance to withdraw the
nomination if you wish to do so.
