That is an interesting idea. In our case I inherited some proprietary
lock-in, however: we use our Exchange server internally for things
like public folders and resource booking, and people are already used
to using Outlook Web Access to check their mail externally. It might
be possible to make such a switch to Google, but then we would run
into the usual bugaboo that hinders software diversity: retraining.
