I've got a sata drive that I just moved from one computer to another.
The drive has a dual boot mandriva and windows XP. When I drop the
drive into the new computer, the lilo (grub?) loader comes up and I get
to select my OS to boot from. Unfortunately, both boots fail. Windows
just kinda barfs and reboots (more specifically I get the 'load windows
in safe mode?' screen and no matter what I select it freezes. When I
boot into linux I get a "mount: error 6 mounting ext3" error, followed
shortly thereafter by a kernal panic.
I'm honestly baffled as to where to even start on this one :). I've
tinkered with the bios on the new machine but don't see anything that
would lead me to believe I should be tinkering in there. I'd hoped it'd
be as easy as move the drive to the new computer and voila.
Thoughts?
