As best I could determine, the bundled PCMCIA card in question, the
WL-100gE has a Broadcom 4318 radio in it. This would make it just as
useful/less in Linux as the wi-fi in the router.

It would probably work if you are willing and able (32bit kernel) to use
a kludge like ndiswrapper.
