On my Kubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) LiveCD's boot menu, there is an option
'install with driver disk' or something like that. That's as much as I
know about this option.
In terms of remastering, this project
http://reconstructor.aperantis.com/ shows some promise. I haven't tried
it yet. From what I can tell, all of the major LiveCD distros are
improving the ease of remastering with every release.
