[kwlug disc.] entry-level, linux-friendly scanner available locally?

I can't speak for Fedora, but I have a multifunction low cost HP PSC 1315
and it worked perfectly with Kubuntu 7.04 as a local and network printer as
well as a local scanner.

This is a below $50 multifunction.

I hear that HP has very good support overall on Linux.

The bad news?

Upgrading to 7.10 caused printing to break. This is still under
investigation
and since 8.04 is coming out tomorrow, I plan to upgrade to that first
before
spending precious time trying to trouble shoot why it does not print
anymore.
