after a scan, i selected "save as OCR - text" from the menu, at which
point sane complained about the lack of the "gocr" command.  so i
"yum" installed that package, and i now have OCR on this puppy.  not
perfectly reliable, but i'm guessing i need to tweak a few settings.
other than that, it's there.  this is turning out to be a decent
investment of $99 after all.
