The print server I am using is a Kubuntu PII-450MHz but with 512MB .

One of my kids used a PII-350MHz with 384MB with Kubuntu until a couple
month or so ago. It was noticeably slow compared to the 450MHz machine. Not
sure if it is the RAM or difference in MHz or both.

Xubuntu seems to require more than 64MB to run, as per here
http://www.xubuntu.org/get

"Once installed, Xubuntu can run with 192 MB RAM, but it is strongly
recommended to have at least 256 MB RAM."

Richard, I have a couple of 256MB SD-RAM sticks that you can test if you
want.
