[kwlug disc.] looking for techie thoughts on laptops

Hi

If note taking during lectures is the main reason for the laptop I think you can't beat the Asus eeePC. Drawback is the small keyboard. However, the small size would fit in well in the lecture hall, it is lightweight and can be carried from class to class easily. Assuming the student also has books to carry.

If I had one thirty years ago, I would have been very happy.

Dell is launching its UMPC soon as well.
